The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department is the sole provider of fire protection services in Franklin, TX and participates in mutual aid agreements with a number of surrounding towns in Robertson County. Members of the department operate out of the fire station located at the intersection of East Morgan Street and Glass Street (Behind the US Postal Office & City Hall). The department has six vehicles including: 1 Engine, 1 Tanker, 1 Rescue, and 3 Grass trucks. View Trucks

In addition to its fire responsibilities, the department provides rescue and general emergency services. In 2004 the department created the First-Responder Program. In conjunction with Robertson County EMS, we are now able to provide a quicker response time to 911 medical calls in our response area. With the addition of this program the department also decided to purchase a vehicle dedicated to medical and extrication response. Rescue 41 is equipped with the "Jaws of Life", Rescue Jacks, Air Bags, and various other equipment used in extrication. As well as extrication tools, Rescue 41 is also equipped with medical supplies.

Funding comes from various sources including: Robertson County Emergency Services District (taxpayers), City of Franklin, Texas Forest Assosiation, fundraiser's, and donations. As with any other industry the fire and rescue service becomes more and more expensive every year. We want to thank these agencies listed above, everyone who participates with our fundraiser's and those who give donations.
